Summer Fortepiano Workshop

August 9-15, 2009 in Lincoln Hall on the Cornell University Campus

Program
The Center for 18th Century Music at Cornell University is pleased to announce the third fortepiano workshop to be held on the Cornell University campus in Ithaca, New York from August 9-15, 2009. The workshop will be directed by Malcolm Bilson of Cornell University, Andrew Willis of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and David Breitman of Oberlin College Conservatory of Music. All classes will be held in in Cornell's air-conditioned Lincoln Hall. Each morning and afternoon, classes will be held with each of the three instructors; on alternate days participants will have the opportunity to work with each one. In addition, each of the instructors (and possibly some of the participants) will give presentations on various topics related to early pianos and performance practices. Picnics, hikes and excursions to various places in the scenic Finger Lakes region will be organized.
Concerts
On Tuesday, August 11 a concert by the three instructors will be given, and on Saturday, August 15 a concert by the participants of the workshop. Both events will be open to the public.

Tuition

- Audit: $200
Housing
- $45 per day for double occupancy
